Key U.N. dialogues about the future of Internet governance could weaken the multistakeholder approach in favour of an increased role for governments and multilateral institutions. The recent convoluted process for the Global Digital Compact has raised concerns from many stakeholder groups about the future of Internet governance discourse.
That’s why we’ve joined A Technical Community Coalition for Multistakeholderism (TCCM): a group of technical operators working to safeguard the future of multistakeholder Internet governance. The strength of the internet is found in this multistakeholder foundation, and it is what keeps the Internet open, free, global, secure, reliable and interoperable. TCCM has raised the collective voice of technical operators in critically important dialogues about our shared digital future. We’re proud to stand with TCCM.
